The holy month of Ramadan has officially begun today, March 1, marking a period of spiritual reflection and devotion for Muslims worldwide. With the commencement of Ramadan, preparations for the annual Hajj pilgrimage are gaining momentum.

In light of this, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025 Hajj Medical Team, offering healthcare professionals the opportunity to serve pilgrims during the sacred journey.

NAHCON to open portal for appication

According to NAHCON, applications for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare specialists will open on March 8, 2025.

The online portal will be accessible from midnight on the launch date and will remain open until March 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Interested medical personnel are encouraged to apply within this timeframe.

The selection of a competent medical team is a critical aspect of Hajj preparations, as thousands of Nigerian pilgrims require medical attention during the pilgrimage.

With the physically demanding nature of the journey, ensuring access to quality healthcare services is a top priority for the commission.

NAHCON approves Jaiz bank, 3 others

Legit.ng earlier reported that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria had approved four banks to support and implement the Hajj Savings Scheme.

An official in the Information and Publications division of NAHCON, Abdulbasit Abba, announced the development in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

Abba stated:

“A significant milestone for the Hajj Savings Scheme, three new Islamic banks—Taj Bank, Alternative Bank, and Lotus Bank—have officially joined the initiative to support Nigerian pilgrims.

“These banks will operate alongside Ja’iz Bank, bringing the total number of participating financial institutions to four.

NAHCON announces 2025 Hajj fare

In a similar report, Legit.ng had chronicled that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had officially announced the 2025 Hajj fare for intending Nigerian pilgrims. The fare varies by geographical zone, reflecting differences in logistics and transportation costs.

According to NAHCON, the Southern zone will pay the highest fare at ₦8,784,085.59. Pilgrims from the Northern zone are to pay ₦8,457,685.59, while those from the Borno and Adamawa zone will pay ₦8,327,125.59, the lowest in the country.
