They also remarked that the outspoken star should anticipate what Osupa would do after seeing his diss video.

    Osupa calls human beings 'animals'

In the video, the music star, who graduated from Ibadan University a few years ago, said many people behaved like animals.

According to him, when a baby is born, instead of the baby being breastfed, the mother would feed them cow's milk.

He said there was no way such a child would not behave like an animal and encouraged more traditional feeding.

Expert explains copyright laws to Portable

Legit.ng's expert, Asha Gangali, is a former executive member of the board of directors of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN). He faulted Portable for not following the due process in lifting Saheed Osupa's song. He educates the Zazuu singer and others on Nigerian copyright law. He said:

"According to Nigerian copyright laws, Portable is required to obtain a copyright license from Saheed Osupa to use those underlying lyrics and lines. It is also up to Osupa to place any monetary value he deems fit to Portable's request. He can also allow him to use it for free. But in this case, Portable failed to request a copyright license from Saheed Osupa, this makes him vulnerable to a copyright infringement claim, that can be initiated against him in a court of law and if the court believes infringement occurred, the court may grant financial relief to Saheed Osupa, by ordering Portable to pay a specific amount for infringing on Osupa's copyright."

The creative artist and talent hunt expert also spoke about the bigger picture of the dispute and its implications for the music industry.

"The implications for the industry at large is that we need to start doing things the proper way. These are copyright-related matters, unfortunately, the majority of Nigerian artists are not knowledgeable about copyright laws and their implications. Artists need to engage entertainment lawyers as part of their team."

Asha explained further that if Portable did not have a personal relationship with Saheed Osupa, he could have engaged the services of the MCSN to mediate.

"It's a simple process that could have been negotiated among both parties, or Portable could have engaged MCSN to help him obtain the license if he didn't have any personal relationship with Saheed Osupa, even though both parties are still required to register any agreement they have with MCSN, the agency that manages the royalties, Portable failed to follow due process."

Efe Irele vibes to Fuji music

Legit.ng also reported that Nollywood actress Efe Irele showed her love for Fuji music in a video.

In the trending clip, she was vibing and singing along to Saheed Osupa's song, which talks about flirting.

Fans were impressed with Efe Irele's video because she sang perfectly despite not being a Yoruba lady.

Sola Sanusi, HOD of the Entertainment Desk, contributed to this article. She provided exclusive commentary from a singer and copyright expert for this report.
