Just In: Nuhu Ribadu Receives Former NYSC DG Tsiga, 18 Other Rescued Kidnap Victims
FCT, Abuja - The National Counter Terrorism Center on Thursday, April 3, handed over the former director-general (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maharazu Tsiga, to the national security adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
As reported by The Punch, the handover took place in Abuja.

Tsiga was abducted alongside other individuals on February 5, 2025, from his hometown of Tisga in Bakori local government area (LGA) of Katsina state. He, however, regained freedom on Wednesday, April 2, after spending 56 days in captivity.
Ribadu reacts to Tsiga's release
Meanwhile, during the handover, NSA Ribadu commended the efforts of the security forces and intelligence agencies involved in the rescue operation that freed Tsiga and 18 other kidnap victims.
He reiterated the Bola Tinubu administration’s 'commitment' to enhancing national security and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians.
Ribadu hands over freed captives to Musa
At the meeting, Ribadu handed over 19 kidnapped victims rescued by the security agencies to the chief of defence staff, General Christopher Musa.
Both Ribadu and Musa pledged to remain relentless until the criminals are wiped out and normalcy is restored in the country.

“As a result of the work of our armed forces and other security services, we are able to rescue and bring back our own people.
“This time, it involves important personalities who served this country. We thank God for their lives, we are grateful to those who made it possible.
“This is an ongoing operation and we are doing it quite silently, we will go after the bad ones.”
Activist lauds Ribadu
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Hamzat Lawal, a prominent activist and Chief Executive of Connected Development (CODE), described Ribadu as a role model for the country’s youth.
In a statement, Lawal praised Ribadu’s "enduring influence on Nigeria’s youth and his commitment to national service."
Lawal recalled his first exposure to Ribadu’s message of hope in 2010, following a recommendation from former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
