Popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has seen a reduction in the number of followers he has on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram following his comment about the trending 30-day rant challenge.

It would be recalled that Peller, in a viral video, had condemned Nigerians participating in the viral 30-day rant challenge.

The TikTok star voiced his concerns about the challenge, saying that such actions could see the government ban the video-sharing platform in Nigeria.

Peller, who hit the limelight thanks to his live videos on TikTok, suggested that the online protesters should use other means to air their frustrations.

The TikTok star said in the viral video:

“If you want to really rant, go to Instagram; go to the market; don’t rant here on TikTok. If they ban TikTok, that’s where we will have an issue."

Peller loses followers after 30-Day rant challenge criticism

In a report by TVC, Peller was said to have lost many fans following his condemnation of the viral rant challenge.

According to the reports, he has lost almost 500,000 followers on TikTok and 400,000 on Instagram.

In a caption of the video, Peller said Nigerians were now seeing him and his partner as the country's problem rather than the leaders.

Many Nigerians are jealous of Raye's little success

According to Godwin Ponmile, many Nigerians, including Peller, are jealous of the little success viral NYSC member Raye made online.

"First of all, Nigerians are jealous of the little success from Raye, and they'll ensure to water her course out with newer trends. Two, I'm only happy that, at least, the corpers eventually get closer to what they deserve. 77k helps better, but wouldn't have sufficed without Raye. Three, they prefer Peller to Raye. Most of us are only hypocrites," he said.

What left to 30-day rant challenge

The 30-day rant challenge was a social media movement started by a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Lagos state, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye.

Raye, in a heartfelt TikTok video, expressed her frustrations over Nigeria's economic conditions, cost of living and limited opportunities for the youths.

Raye lamented the cost of a crate of eggs, which she claimed was over N6,000. She complained that the NYSC monthly allowances of N33,000 were no longer sufficient to sustain corps members.

Following her video, reports surfaced that some NYSC officials pressured her to delete it. This angered many Nigerian youths and led to widespread social media outrage tagged the #30DayRantChallenge.

Peller claps back at critics

Meanwhile, Legit.ng also previously reported that Peller responded to his critics with a video.

The TikTok star shared a clip of himself and Jarvis grooving to Burna Boy's Lambo diss song.

Reacting, a netizen said: "Person wey life de favour go think say others no de try."
