Baker Who Slept Off While Baking Cake At 1am Wakes Up Hours Later To Find It In Good Condition

A female baker, @debbie_14_, has taken to social media to appreciate God over what would have been a baking disaster.
The baker narrated how she dozed off while baking at 1am.
She would wake up at 4:36am and rush to check what happened to the cake in the oven, which was still on.

Quite to her amazement, the lady found the cake unburnt. She said all she could mutter was "thank you Jesus."
She posted a video showing when she took out the cake from the oven. Words layered on her TikTok video explaining what happened read:
"I started baking by 1am and I slept off.
"I woke up with full speed by 4:36am and my oven was still on with the cake inside. Jesus!
"The cake didn't even get burnt.
"All I kept saying was thank you Jesus."
She admitted the incident shook her.
Experienced home baker speaks on lady's experience
Speaking exclusively with Legit.ng, Nwaneri Adaeze Rosemary, a food scientist and home baker with over seven years of experience, weighed in on the baker's unexpected experience.
According to Rosemary, a cake might not get burnt if left in an oven due to some factors.
"It's possible. Did she say what time she woke up? There are factors that can prevent your cake from getting burnt.
"If she was baking at a low temperature and using the steam method, then the cake probably wouldn't have gotten burnt because that's what the steam method does. It helps keep your cake moist and prevents burning or fast caramelization.
"Though the cake might not be burnt but if it stays in the oven longer than it should have, then it'll be overbaked, still edible, but definitely dense and overbaked..."
Rosemary, a brand promoter, added that the baker's experience is not unheard of.

"That's like 3½ hours (of the cake being left in the oven). That's not unheard of for a cake to be in the oven. Not ideal if you know what you're doing, but it happens.
"I'm self-taught, so I had a lot of trial and error when I started baking. My cake batter used to be so thick that my cakes would stay in the oven for almost 2 hours plus before they got done.
"So, yes, as much as I wouldn't want to exclude the God factor from her story, I also know that baking is a science, and I know that her cake not getting burnt after 3½hrs is scientifically possible depending on different factors."

When the lady woke up five hours later, she went straight to the kitchen and found out her meal had burnt beyond recognition.
People marvelled at how she survived the incident with no damage to her house or herself, considering that she cooked with gas.
