“Yesterday, I received the sum of #5,000 as the award for the Best Graduating Student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Benin for the 2021/2022 Academic Session having graduated with a CGPA of 4.80/5.0.
“This award holds great significance for me, considering my journey from a very disadvantaged background to achieving such an outstanding feat. I am also honored to have served as a student leader in several positions, notably as President of my department and Faculty (NUESA).”

In a chat with Legit.ng, Okpako shared how he was able to emerge as the best in his department despite his political positions.

    He said:

"I read most times at night. And I was able to grab things easily. Another key thing also that helped was having good friends who were able to motivate me as well. I’m a very close friend of many first class students and we do always motivate ourselves to study.
"Another thing was that I also form my personal notes whenever I study. So I could read up to 6 materials and form a comprehensive notebook for myself which I would focus on whenever exams appear close."
