A Nigerian boy who just started school in Canada has shown significant changes in the way he speaks.

The boy's mother shared a video on TikTok to show people how the boy now speaks with a new accent.

The video was shared by @rarepearl_5, and it showed the boy pronouncing words differently from what the mother knows.

According to the woman, her son has only attended school in Canada for one week, and he acquired the new accent.

When the little boy was told to pronounce 'water,' his pronunciation skipped the letter 't' and pronounced it as 'wora.'

The mother could not help but ask where he learned it, and he said it was his teacher who taught him to pronounce it that way.

Different reactions have trailed the video, with some mothers who also live abroad sharing their own experiences.

The video was captioned:

"My Son after attending school in Canada for just one week."

However, reacting to the development, Seyi Obasi, a travel consultant at Japa Systems who lives in Canada, said there is nothing wrong with a child's accent changing.

She told Legit.ng:

"Is it a problem that his accent changed? He is so young that it's expected. I don't really see a lot of challenge raising kids here."

Lady gets Canadian visa for her mother

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian lady shared some of the documents she submitted when she was applying for a visa for her mother.

The lady said one of the documents she used to bring her mother to stay in Canada was her Nigerian passport.

In a TikTok video, the lady said her mother came to Canada to do omugwo because she recently gave birth to twins.
